Ptolemy Grey (Samuel L. Jackson) & Young Ptolemy (Percy Daggs IV)

Ptolemy Grey is a Mississippi-born and raised man who is starting to suffer from dementia. And despite all of his sister’s children and grandchildren around him in the Atlanta area, only one checks on him and tries to take care of him. But luckily, thanks to the help of a young girl named Robyn and a doctor named Dr. Rubin, he is given a few months of absolute lucidity, going all the way back to when he was barely 7 years old. And with having a clear mind, he focuses on solving the crime of Reggie’s murder, as Reggie was the only one who consistently looked out for him when he wasn’t all there.
