“One Piece” Synopsis

Monkey D. Luffy wants to be King of the Pirates, but the only way to do so is to find the One Piece, a fabled treasure coveted by pirates across the seas. When he’s not being chased down by the Marines, Luffy is being chased down by other treacherous pirates. But Luffy also makes friends along his voyage, and these friends become a powerful crew known as the Straw Hat Pirates.

Confident, playful, and an optimist are all Luffy’s strengths as a pirate captain. While small and young, Luffy has the special power to stretch and twist his body in unimaginable ways, and he’s always loyal to his friends. Luffy’s dream is to be the Pirate King, but he must find the last Pirate King’s treasure, the One Piece.

Nami is a resourceful thief and cartographer who takes what she needs and can find her way out of any situation. Nami is the most hesitant about joining Luffy’s pirate crew, but she joins him as she also seeks the map to the One Piece. Her dream is to map the entire world.

Usopp is as much a smooth talker as he is an unsmooth talker. He’s quick to exaggerate the truth, but his knack for storytelling can captivate an audience—at least, an audience that doesn’t know him too well. Usopp wants to be a courageous pirate like his father, but his instinct is to run away and hide.

Vice Admiral Garp is a leader of the Marines, and after decades of hunting down pirates, he meets his biggest threat yet in Luffy. Garp is fixated on stopping Luffy for reasons that become increasingly clear as the episodes continue.

Koby (Morgan Davies)

Koby may start as a pirate, but his dream is to serve in the Marines and help people. Luffy helps Koby chase his dream, but the two friends are torn as their lifestyles dictate that they are enemies. Koby sees the good in Luffy, but as a Marine, he must hunt down pirates.
