- With Belly believing Jeremiah cheated, and Taylor may have known since Lacie is in her sorority, she cuts them both off for a while and leans heavily on Anika to be her rock.
- As this happens, Steven breaks up with Mia (who is not seen) and tries to secure a relationship with Taylor, whose fear of what’s possible leads to rejection, and in Steven trying to push the topic, he ends up in an accident.
- For many, this is a wake-up call, even Conrad, as he loses his internship, and Agnes, who was there to see it happen, reminds him he needs to stop burying his emotions if he wants to succeed.
- But, while Steven does end up in a coma, temporarily, he is okay. He decides to end things with Taylor, for good, but is okay. On a lighter note, though, Belly and Jeremiah reconcile, and he proposes to her – and she says yes.
- Oh, and Steven and Belly’s parents, Laurel and John, hook up at a literary conference.
- There is something about Agnes that makes me glad Conrad is separated from the rest of the cast, outside of the scenes of him and Belly having platonic moments at Christmas.
- For with her seeming more mature than the rest, yet still a touch playful, she feels like one of the best things to happen to Conrad, and could be the person he needs, like Belly and Jeremiah think they need each other.
- I will say, though, what may really make me like Agnes is that she doesn’t seem as addicted to drama, or written to have it, like everyone else, so she feels rooted in something real versus made for entertainment.
- John and Laurel can maybe fit that brand as well, as being made to be something real, and while it seems more like a one-time thing than rekindling their relationship, I’m interested in seeing where it goes.
- Overall, I’ll give it to The Summer I Turned Pretty for having a dramatic, must-see type of return after a nearly two-year hiatus. One that may bug me the slightest bit, but I fully plan to stick around all the way to mid-September for the finale.
