Recap
The First Eliminated
For the first battle, each house is tasked with an opening performance, and while Eyricka was stiff at first, she was doing more than often criticized for. However, Balmain, their main competition, they brought the look and, with Father Jamari as lead, as always, brought the choreography. Which leads us to Escada.
If there is one thing you could always say about Escada is they seemed the most family-oriented out of all the houses. Yes, this is a competition, but you can tell this was more a bonding experience than anything else for them. Which could be why their house falls. After all, like Jamari mentioned, while a loving and caring house, their discipline isn’t at the level of Jamari or even Eyricka. So while they definitely set a standard, their standards weren’t high enough.
The Battles
Which leads to Balmain, the house that nearly went home battling against the most decorated house in the competition. In total, there were 5 battles, and hardly any of them were that eventful. While Jamari and Carlos battling in a hands performance was cute, as well as Zay Zay bumping Calypso during their spins and dips performance, there wasn’t much aggression. We didn’t see much blocking or anything to really push the competition to the next level.
Leave It All On The Floor
Yet, it is the finale, and these are the two left. So, after some deliberation, it is decided the House of Balmain won the first season of “Legendary.”

Highlights
The Tango Which Started The Show
I don’t know about you, but the tango between Leiomy and Dashaun raised my expectations for the finale. The choreography, by Leiomy, and just how it was lit and on point, it made me think they are prepping us for what is to come. Though, in reality, it ended up being the best part of the episode.
On The Fence
The Final Competitions Weren’t As Nasty As You’d Expect For 100,000
Considering how nasty we have seen some battles get, especially the ones for money, the fact the battles for $100,000 were rather tame was a complete letdown. Mind you, they had a few cute moments, like Zay Zay bumping Calypso and Jamari and Carlos doing some minor blocking, but it was never at the level where you’d think they were fighting for $100K.
Rather, it seemed like just another elimination battle, and, again, after that Leiomy and Dashaun performance, it set expectations so high. But, in the end, that ended up eclipsing everything we saw after.
Overall
Trajectory – Plateau
The high of watching Leiomy perform with Dashaun makes up for final battles that just didn’t seem worthy of being part of a finale. Which isn’t to say any of them were bad but, they definitely weren’t either house’s best work and had the vibe of them working so hard for so many weeks, they were running out of gas.
