Recap
This content contains pertinent spoilers.
If You Don’t Love My Work, You Don’t Love Me – Nurse Villanueva, Dr. Andrews
Dr. Andrews would really like to date Nurse Villanueva. This is a follow-up to a plot that began in episode 8 of this season, and it seems Dr. Andrews is at the point where he has had Human Resources write up an agreement so the relationship can move forward publicly. Originally, Nurse Villanueva is for them dating until she brings up, as many have done before her, the lack of value placed on nurses.
Dr. Andrews, to cut costs, has traveling nurses come, and that doesn’t work for Nurse Villanueva and her team since they disrupt the flow of things. So, feeling like he sees her job as just a line item makes her feel like he doesn’t value her, and thus their relationship is put on ice.
Popular, I Want To Be Popular – Jared, Daniel, Jordan, Lea, Shaun
Jared so badly wants to be treated like a peer than a newbie. So, as he has for all of his life, he tries to buy friendship. He hosts a huge karaoke thing, and the only ones who show up are Jordan, Lea, and Shaun. Shaun ends up focusing more on trying to prove something is wrong with Dr. Glassman than doing karaoke, Lea is trying to enjoy herself, but it is difficult, and Jordan? Honestly, she is just taking note of Jared’s desperation to be liked.
But, in time, it seems he is slowly winning her over to the point of Daniel catching them almost kissing.
If Not Because Of The Evidence, For Me? – Dr. Glassman, Shaun, Lea
Because Dr. Glassman made minor mistakes for months, Shaun is so sure something is wrong, and he comes to believe maybe Dr. Glassman’s cancer is back. Six months prior, Dr. Glassman got a clean bill of health, and he is quick to remind Shaun that he does some of the most difficult surgeries in the hospital, so minor mistakes like Shaun is harping on are no big deal.
However, Lea figures out a way for Shaun to break through to Dr. Glassman by admitting he is scared. He, Shaun, is about to become a father, the man he sees as his father is getting older, and he just wants some reassurance. This breaks through to Dr. Glassman, and even though he doesn’t like Shaun’s way of getting him to this point, he recognizes Shaun’s worries and wishes to make it clear he is okay.
Things To Note
What Could Happen Next
- Glassman’s cancer coming back
- Nurse Villanueva and Dr. Andrews continuing to try to work things out since neither has anything else going on
- A Jordan, Daniel, and Jared love triangle
- Likely, the season finale will be dedicated to Lea giving birth

Notable Performances or Moments
Shaun Getting Teary-Eyed About Glassman’s Mortality
There has been a tease for a while that Dr. Glassman could leave the show for a while. He has been coasting as a character, a supporting role in Shaun’s life, and while Morgan is no longer up for his job, she is ambitious and could try to do her grant program and be the head of the clinic at the same time. So, in many ways, killing off Dr. Glassman could be a huge shock, but with the end of his chapter, comes Shaun as a father and trying to live up to Dr. Glassman’s example while aiming to not be like his biological dad.
With that said, I don’t think Dr. Glassman is going to die this season, but I can imagine a diagnosis this season, and for the 7th season’s mid-season finale, something could happen.
On The Fence
Andrews & Villanueva Ending Before It Begin
What does the “The Good Doctor” do when you have nothing going on? Start up a romance. But, what makes this, maybe 3rd occasion, of a boss and subordinate romance different, is it includes a nurse. We have long wanted and wished to see more of the nurses, and I’d submit with the exit of Danni, aka Danica, it would have been more interesting to use that screentime to build up Nurse Villanueva than bring back Jared.
So we can only hope, as “The Good Doctor” goes to its favorite narrative to keep a character active, it doesn’t rehash past storylines and mistakes.
Jared Rehashing His Old Storyline
Why was he brought back? Was Jared a fan favorite? I’m so confused, especially since it seems like he isn’t only restarting career-wise, but they are also restarting his story. Including reminding us how he bought friends, his wealth, and all that is left is him assaulting someone to defend someone he likes.
