Storyline Recap

How To Save A Marriage – Charles, Nuria

To save his marriage, Charles convinces Nuria to come to Paris for a conversation. He feeds her the lie of him doing corporate espionage, stabbing one billionaire in the back for another, and sometimes having to get dirty to get the job done. That is his means of explaining the money, the passport, the guns, and Nuria, being in love with Charles, chooses to believe him. Granted, how will this explanation hold up when her family pokes holes through it? That’s hard to tell. But she chooses to believe him, and his lie is genuine enough for her to drop her investigation potentially.

I Can’t Do This On My Own – Isabel, Bianca, Larry, Vincent

Between Larry getting the drop on her, Alison dying, Emma dying, and two agents dying, Isabel struggles to keep the faith. Yes, they got something with learning that the sniper is likely British and using Norman’s specialized rifle, but with the Foreign Secretary breathing down Isabel’s neck, the losses aren’t appearing to be worth it.

With that in mind and Bianca’s trust in most limited, she asks an old friend, Vincent, to join her team. With him accepting, she hopes to make progress on people like Larry to get to Norman and eventually the assassin.

Preparation Begins – UDC, Charles, Zina

Since Charles’ marital problems have been handled, his focus is now on UDC (Ulle Dag Charles) and heading to Croatia to scout the venue of UDC’s major reveal: River. UDC is aware a hit has been put on him, but rather than cower or choose the safest way to live his life, he presses forward. As this happens, Zina is tasked with keeping a close eye on Charles, and she ends up in his hotel room waiting for him.

Mind you, this is on the night Charles nearly fell to his death finding a good sniping location, so to say he isn’t in the mood for unexpected visitors is an understatement.

This Is Your Mother – Bianca, Jasmine, Larry

While Larry escapes Bianca, he isn’t hard to find. He somehow learns where Bianca lives and ends up threatening the life of Jasmine, who is home alone since Paul is at a seminar. Thankfully, Bianca has shooting skills reminiscent of Will Smith in “Bad Boys” and is able to free Jasmine before Larry opens her neck, and she takes him down without killing him.

This leads to Jasmine realizing who her mother is, and Bianca and Charles likely continuing to mirror each other’s personal lives for yet another episode.

New Character Descriptions

Vincent

Vincent is a friend of Bianca’s who was trained at Hendon with her. He has been in various parts of the military/ police, from close protection to being a tach adviser, NCA, and ultimately ended up at Six. He is also known for his advanced driving capabilities.

Ulle Dag Charles (UDC)

Khalid Abdalla as Ulle Dag Charles

Ulle Dag Charles, commonly known as UDC, is a billionaire whose newest project, “River,” is considered a major threat due to its alleged ability to make the entire financial system transparent, including revealing what everyone has in their bank account. Now, it isn’t clear if it will show how the money moves, but it can show what everyone is holding.

Highlights

The Intensity Of Larry Having Jasmine And Charles Almost Falling

While you knew Charles wouldn’t die, there is no doubt that he isn’t used to being in situations that are out of his control or that are daunting. So, seeing him in that position acted as a reminder that, without diminishing his character, he is still human, flawed, and vulnerable.

Then with Bianca, with how many stumbles she has suffered thus far, I think her getting that opportunity to shoot Larry and keep Jasmine safe showed her as far more capable than often given credit. Mind you, we know she has the knowledge and knows the procedures, but this was one of the first times she really got to be a badass in a notable way.

On The Fence

Nuria

I liked the possibilities Nuria brought to the show. She was the wife who didn’t know the truth or did and was potentially as badass as her husband. However, now she is a bit annoying. Yes, I get it, he lied, and trust is a major factor in what kept them together. But, factoring in how her family tainted her mind and how far she went for answers, most of my interest in her and Charles’ relationship with her feels withdrawn.

I’d even say, I wish he was single because Nuria doesn’t seem to add complexity to Charles at this point, she has simply become a liability.

The Tease Of People Cheating On Their Spouse

The way Vincent speaks to Bianca and the way Zina and Charles look at each other makes it feel like they are teasing something. Vincent asking about Bianca’s marriage pushes the idea she was the one who got away, and he’d take her back at a moment’s notice. The Zina thing, after Charles having to convince his wife everything is fine, raises red flags for it is hard to say if his exasperation is from seeing her in his room or from a long day and him letting that stress melt off for he is in the presence of someone he loves, or at least lusts over.

And honestly, while I get the show’s drama isn’t the best, when it comes to anything outside the thriller element, I’d hate to see them tap further into personal drama since that has been one of the show’s weakest points.
