The Unstoppable Behemoth
From destroying walls to trampling Silhouette Knights, this tough shelled demon seems unstoppable. Almost a dozen nights come at it with swords and spells and are almost all repelled. To say the least, it seems this being, which came out of nowhere, will definitely begin a massacre.
Commentary
One thing I always questioned when it comes to shows dealing with demons is where do they come from? How does a demon evolve into something the size and power of the behemoth? Also, how was it created? Is there still some sort of God and Satan dynamic? Do we just count demons as random genetic mutations and breeding leads to their sizes? I know that is probably going a bit too deep for a show which is about a kid genius, but I feel the need to ask this. If only because, the way they talk about “Division Class” beasts makes them sound rare. So, with that, you have to wonder how something like them become a possibility. Much less, are their smaller versions of the same demon?
The Prodigy: Ernie
While we know Ernie is a genius, there is a lot that happens which makes him look like an idiot. First and foremost, rather than try and escape with his peers, he chases after Dietrech who has abandoned the fight against the behemoth. This kid who probably isn’t even 5’5 chased after, and somehow reached in time, this one story + mecha who was running full speed. Okay.
Following that, he technically kidnaps the machine and despite, if I recall right, never being in one, he adapts and programs it like he is a seasoned veteran. Then, on top of that, is running, jumping, able to do acrobatics and hold his own against a division class monster. One which the Silhouette Knights were so overwhelmed by that Guardian Knights [note]Assumingly the next rank[/note] had to be called in.
Yet, they too are no match for the behemoth. But little Ernie, using one of his spells and the Behemoth, is able to fry the brain of the behemoth. Okay.
All of this mentioned elevates Ernie’s profile and maybe not in the best way. For already, to hide their embarrassment, the Knights aren’t talking about a 12-year-old doing what they couldn’t do. And now the king, so it seems, may fear Ernie’s abilities and wants an audience with him.
Dammit, Ernie.
Commentary
I know I pretty much did the commentary part in the summary, but let’s revisit. Ernie, who has not got into a Silhouette Knight, has barely gotten to study them, reprogramed one. He reprogrammed it, piloted it, and did stuff supposedly people didn’t know it could do. All the while taking on a division class beasts. They didn’t start him with something basic but instead what seems to be one of the highest classes.
So, where can we go from here? That is kind of the issue doing that brings up. He has fought and defeated a division class monster with someone else’s Silhouette Knight. Take into consideration what can and would happen once he has his own? One he has customized to do as he needs and isn’t using eons old technology which has not been modified at all.
What is there to look forward to then? Him facing off against a multiple of things? Maybe his design being stolen and humans causing a war? I just feel like we were given too much too soon.
