Recap

Longing From Afar – Toru, Sakura, Remi

Sakura really does have a crush on Toru, but with her not looking anything like Kyoko or Remi, in terms of big eyes and slender, she worries he’ll have no interest in her, so she doesn’t seem willing to try. After all, since she became friends with Remi as a kid, she often was referred to as the beast while Remi was the beauty.

Dad?! – Kyosuke, Yuriko, Izumi, Kyoko

Izumi saying he loves Kyoko makes for an awkward phase of their relationship, and when you pair Kyoko’s little brother seeing Izumi with Shindo’s girlfriend, and the two a little too close, Kyoko gets jealous. Luckily they hash things out, but she does throw her school books at his head before that happens.

However, the real test comes when Kyoko’s father, Kyosuke, breezes in and questions if Izumi is Kyoko’s boyfriend, and she says he is. This further becomes confirmed as Yuriko clarifies Izumi has been a while for a bit since she plans for him to be at dinner. This is fine with Kyosuke, but it also means his meal wasn’t planned for, and there might not be enough for him.

Love Can Be Expressed In Other Ways – Izumi, Kyoko

While it is acknowledged that Izumi said he loved Kyoko, she doesn’t say it back. However, between claiming Izumi as her boyfriend, walking with him halfway to his home, and holding his hand, she shows his feelings are returned in other ways. Now, considering her relationship with her parents, is that a factor in her inability to say it back? Maybe. But at the very least, we can assume these two are dating now.

Things To Note | Question(s) Left Unanswered

  1. So, what is Yuriko and Kyosuke’s relationship? Also, what does Kyosuke do for a living?

Highlights

Sakura’s Story Emerging

Sakura looking downward

With Izumi and Kyoko together, now it seems we may get a different love story with complications. That is Sakura and Toru. For with Sakura thinking she isn’t Toru’s type, and you know Remi likely wanting to get involved and help, here is hoping Toru doesn’t transfer his feelings from Kyoko to Remi. Thus forcing Sakura to be somewhere between shocked, angry, and wanting to be happy for her friend.

Kyoko and Izumi Finally Together

Okay, did Kyoko and Izumi officially give each other the title of boyfriend and girlfriend? No. But Kyoko did say Izumi was, he said he loves her, so let’s take this win and run with it, okay?! Especially since Remi was waiting in the wings and while Kyoko may mostly stay home, that doesn’t mean Izumi does and would continue to just hang with Kyoko while other girls pursued him.

So, as of now, let’s claim: Mission Accomplished.
