  • The Boxtrolls – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview The Boxtrolls is a kid’s movie which shows how foolish, arrogant and gullible adults are. Even when all the evidence needed is right before their eyes. Review (with Spoilers) Though ParaNorman, Laika’s last production, didn’t really hit it out of the park with me, being that I didn’t know this was their newest film, I didn’t walk in with any preconceived notions. I just remember seeing the trailer somewhere, advertisements pop up and thought this would be a cute movie to see. One which unfortunately would have a theater filled with kids, but if you want to see films like these that is something you have to deal with. I digress, though, for the real question is whether this film has more broad appeal than ParaNorman, or if it is just another company’s futile attempt to stand out of the shadow of Disney’s domination. • Miss You Already – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Initial Thoughts The draw here was all Toni Collette for me. Since The United States of Tara, I have always found her in these odd, but interesting movies, and I expected no less from this. Though I must admit, her playing opposite Drew Barrymore did worry me a bit. If only because when I think of Drew Barrymore, I think of someone who isn’t really trying to do much besides pay her bills and have a little fun while doing it. That is opposed to someone like Toni Collette who I put with Helen Mirren and Emma Thompson, who I would say is just as much about putting on stirring, and dramatic performance, as she is about having fun with her craft. Which lead to me watching this, with fingers crossed, that my indifference toward Barrymore wouldn’t ruin the movie for me. Trigger Warning(s): Cancer Depiction Community Rating: 66.73% (4)

Overview An emotionally stunted psychologist realizes one day that he is incapable of helping his patients, so he pursues what it means to be happy in order to be more than just someone listening to their problems. Review (with Spoilers) Between having probably one of the most interesting trailers I have seen in recent memory, and having Simon Pegg & Toni Collette in the film, I could not wait for this film to come to the US. So, with that said, let’s talk about the movie. Community Rating: 0.00% (0) - No Community Ratings Submitted.
