Aunt Vi reassuring Celine

  1. Hey Amari great review. I know that bringing this up may sound pretty but am I wrong for feeling like the B family especially Aunt Vi forgave Davis just q little to easy/quickly? I mean they gave Darla straight hell! They completely isolated her and shut her out during the whole baby blue gate during season 2. Talking down to Darla, giving her dirty looks, not letting her get her phone charger (hypocritical ass Nova!) Hell Aunt Vi’s old hen pecked ass even took Blue from Darla and didn’t even acknowledge her (when Darla dropped Blue off for a visit with Ra) all of this stuff yet Davis can just stroll in like nothing….. Again happy and glad that Darla isn’t so scared/tense/anxious when around the B family like she was years ago but still. But also I also know that Charley is family and technically Davis and Darla did different things but come on. In season 4 Aunt Vi was still acting stank towards Darla even after RA had forgiven her and they were on better terms. Like seriously at some point if a person that was harmed forgave the person that hurt them then at some point you have to let it go. Just a little rant. Happy that Darla and RA will be parents again. But RA is definitely going to get himself caught up (again) mess around and have Darla as a single mom back in D.C. with her parents lol poor Darla….

    1. My thing is, I feel like we’re sweeping under the rug that Darla’s situation was something that could and has stayed within the family. Yes, some in the area may know of Star and Darla’s dark period, but if you’re not from St. Jo, you wouldn’t know – so that’s a minor family embarrassment. Davis, on the other hand, had Charley look like a fool internationally. She had to pay off some woman, Davis had a baby out of wedlock, and while Charley has moved on, I do not understand how Aunt Vi has. What Darla did gave Aunt Vi the opportunity to be a surrogate mom and the opportunity to help someone who was in bad shape. Davis’ infidelity didn’t benefit Vi the least bit. It cost the family money, respect, and while Hollywood and RA seem enchanted by some floor seat tickets, I can’t imagine Vi giving a damn about that.

But I guess Vi is trying to channel life before the blow-up, and holding onto those old feelings, than tapping into how upset she was when Davis was messing up one day at a time.

      1. Which is out of character for her. She was just in a tiff with RA regarding Blue going to live in DC, so I would think she is ready for a new fight. Especially someone who isn’t biological family.

But just you wait, with Charley running for higher office, all of this, and more, will come out, and I bet this goodwill will diminish quickly.
