Uchimura makes his first notable stumbles as he offends Ulmandra.

Recap
While Uchimura has been notching up win after win when making new alliances for the Demon Lord’s army, as established at the beginning of the season, there are internal issues. Demons and Demi-Humans do not get along, and while Ulmandra has grown to like Uchimura, he is still human, which is partly an issue.
Case in point, Uchimura’s ignorance about why demons often bear skin leads to him accidentally insulting Ulmandra – who you know has a crush on Uchimura. After doing some research, he learns that only demons can use magic, and their powers are based on their strength. So having their abdomens, their legs, arms, and more out – with minimal armor, it isn’t because they are trying to be sexualized or anything like that – it’s about pride. Their beauty and strength, no different from their horns, tails, and more, are things they have no desire to hide, and because of what is associated with them, that’s directly linked to their pride.
So when it comes to humans and demi-humans, and them looking down on such, it is an insult to everything they do to remain fit and healthy. Uchimura learns this and apologizes, and the Demon Lord looks at this as progress. Especially considering this is probably the first step he’ll need to take to keep the Demon Lord’s empire together.

Review
Trajectory (82/100): Plateau
Considering Uchimura’s notable wins, how he stumbled in this episode was excellently handled. It showed room for growth without stunting his momentum. I would add that it even created a potential blind spot for him, which helped push the idea that the reason Uchimura was overshadowed for promotions was that, while he is a workhorse, he didn’t understand or pursue the social aspect required to move up in the business.
Thus, it appears that he is ace at making deals and reading situations. However, he struggles with reading people, building relationships, and doing more than being a gear in the machine. Hence, there has been no talk of friends, family, or significant others thus far—he wasn’t adept at pursuing, maintaining, or excelling in that line of work.
Though you could also add, in terms of culture, maybe he was oblivious to that as well. For the most part, Uchimura lives a rather isolated life, and we don’t see him socialize outside of work. Even with Ulmandra, they aren’t necessarily going out, touring, or anything like that. Even when it comes to him killing that beast to have some meat, it eventually evolved into a work thing since the food was donated and bettered the standing of Uchimura and the demon lord.
So, with that in mind, him now reading up on Demons and Demi-Humans, maybe looking into the history of the world he is in, should not only benefit his character development but further our and his understanding of the world.
