Anne consoling Cole.

  1. Thanks for your thorough and insightful review of episode 10. I found season 2 delightful, I daresay even better than season 1, with episode 7 being the high point of the season. As for episode 10, the only thing that came across to me as unnatural was Ruby’s reaction (or lack of) when she got off the train and there was Gilbert waiting for them outside. Then Gilbert and Anne walk down the platform a few steps ahead of the others, completely absorbed in conversation with each other, and Ruby is seen behind them, absent-mindedly talking to Moody… I don’t think so. Ruby has a huge crush on Gilbert, she is even embroidering stuff with his initials for her hope chest! She would probably get all flustered to unexpectedly see him at the station, maybe not talk to him, but certainly not take it lightly to watch him pair up with Anne and walk away almost without noticing her. That’s not how teenage girls with a crush on a boy usually react when they see their crush with another girl… Just my two cents. But, again, I found season 2 outstanding, with superb acting (Marilla and Matthew coming to terms in episode 7 with the pain their mother caused them was heartwrenching), powerful writing and really gorgeous sets and cinematography.
