As expected, the characters born out of someone’s imagination wish to confront their creators. However, two new creations get in the way of what would have been our first heart to heart chat.
Episode Focus: Coming to Face With God (Selesia)
After listening to Meteora’s theories for most of the episode, and Sota tracking down her creator, Selesia asks of Sota to do the same for her. The results are that Selesia’s creator, Mr. Matsubara, is actually within the area so she gets to meet her creator first. A meeting which, as you can imagine, isn’t the most peaceful considering the type of world Selesia comes from.
However, a magical girl Mamika interrupts the meeting and, with her speaking on behalf of the “Military Uniform Princess,” and being ignored, so comes her battling Selesia. Well, at least until Yuya Mirokuji steps in to stop the fight for without her partner in crime, Selesia may be able to dodge and fly away but she can’t win.
Commentary
Would it be wrong to say that Meteora’s lengthy explanation of things was filler? Like, if this was a full-length movie then I would understand her need to drop all that knowledge in one sitting. However, being that this is episodic, and most of Meteora’s points weren’t even noteworthy in the sense of putting a stamp of approval on any theory you may have had, it just seemed like hot air. Making Selesia meeting her creator a godsend even if it was cut short.
Leading me to wonder, what is going to happen with this show? Are we going to see a bunch of characters just confront their creator and through violence, or pleading, requesting more happier lives? Will we see a sort of fantasy world civil war between those like Mamika who side with the “Military Uniform Princess” and those who don’t? Or will it be similar to Alice to Zouroku where, even for just a short time, these characters will get to experience the normalcy privileges their creators have and we’ll watch them adjust to it before being snatched back into their worlds?
