And The Killer Is! – Jean, Aya, Raoul, Alfred, Tsugaru, Claude

With the realization of planted evidence and the killer intently throwing off everyone by making it appear a stake was used and the murder a half hour later, it throws off the original list. Even the new list with Alfred and Claude doesn’t seem right.

Which leads to a multipoint breakdown and with taking into consideration the time adjustment, force needed, skill to commit murder, and capability to commit the crime? All signs point to Raoul, who originally denies he did anything, but then as the evidence becomes insurmountable, he tries and fails to attack Aya and finds himself in a fight with Tsugaru.

You Cannot Defeat The Oni-Slayer – Raoul, Tsugaru

For Raoul, the reason he killed Hannah was because she was leading the direction of the family. Raoul didn’t like the idea of the family, despite being vampires, one of the most powerful beings out there, allowing themselves to be tamed. Hannah decided, Jean followed suit, and while Claude may not have liked it, he would never speak up. So, at this point, Raoul had to do something, and even in his fight against Tsugaru, he planned to kill him and the rest and potentially live a solitary life. One far more dignified than he has been living for years.

A Quick Interview, Please! – Annie, Jean, Aya, Tsugaru

It isn’t clear who or how Annie was alerted to Aya’s investigation being nearly over unless the sounds of Tsugaru’s fight echoed far beyond where we’d expect, but she is hoping for comments. Ultimately she gets minimal out of Jean, who is quite distraught but gets information out of Aya and Tsugaru.

Other Noteworthy Information

  1. We get to see the man known as “The Professor” and his minions.

Highlights

A Decent Wrap-Up

Was the end of the murder investigation satisfying? Yes and no. Did the Raoul setup make sense? Yes. However, with taking three episodes and the second episode lagging a bit, the wrap-up felt like something that should have ended halfway through the episode and make way for the introduction of the “Professor.”

Some Idea Of Who The “Professor” Is

If you look up the show, you’ll learn the “Professor,” as Jean refers to him as, since the “Professor” tried to recruit him, is Sherlock Holmes’ arch enemy, James Moriarty. Having him shown with his associates at the end of the episode gave us something to look forward to, especially with a three-episode arc that wasn’t terrible but quickly lost its luster.

On The Fence

Raoul v. Tsugaru

While it is appreciated that the fight sequence combined Tsugaru whipping Raoul’s ass with giving backstory, I must say the fight wasn’t on the same level as previous fights of Tsugaru. Also, while it is good to know Tsugaru, for a moment, was part of Moriarty’s group, that tease pushes a lot of questions which make his backstory murky.

Now, this does create the opportunity to draw intrigue, but as I say all this, it makes the fight itself less and less memorable and more like a way to break up Tsugaru telling his story.

Overall
While the end of the murder case doesn’t leave us begging for more, with seeing “The Professor,” there is hope that he could bring “Undead Murder Farce” the energy the show is beginning to lose.
