Suicide Squad Isekai: Season 1 Episode 10 [Finale] – Recap/ Review (Slideshow Short)

In the finale of “Suicide Squad: Isekai” the Undead King has their last stand against the growing threat of the Suicide Squad as they go through magical girl transformations.

The Gist

Summary

The battle with the Undead King mainly plays out as a numbers game. They continually create a skeletal army that loses its formidability as more of the Suicide Squad discover their ability to use magic.

The tide especially turns as the majority have magical girl transformations thanks to Deadshot inheriting Cecil’s armor after he takes a blow that makes it so he can’t continue.

Add in Enchantress’ body being rescued, Katana helping, Fione landing a devastating blow, and the Undead King’s reign ends.

But before the episode ends, we learn that Joker somehow got into the magical world and has been the Emperor, masquerading as Katana, all this time. Waller tasks Rick with either bringing in Joker alive or dead since he could complicate the resource extraction that was secured.

Review

This was an epic finale from the battle scenes to comic moments, mainly thanks to Clayface and how Enchantress reacted to him and Rick trying to save her body.

In many ways, it compensated well for the sometimes sluggish episodes we saw earlier in the season and allowed the show to end on a high note.

Add in the reveal that Joker has been working behind the scenes, undermining Waller and masquerading as various entities, and it sets up what could be an interesting season two.

That is, assuming there is an investment there for a second season.
