While a storm slows down the progress of the story, you’ll remain invested in the characters.

The World Doesn’t Revolve Around You – Azi, Levi, Mia

Azi continues to be someone who seemingly isn’t great at socializing or working with people. Case in point: a woman in the past, Mia, was interested in Azi. However, for reasons not revealed, she blew her off.

Which makes things with Levi to no surprise. Alongside Azi working with many robots before the Levi line, she expects it to serve her purely. But with Levi infected by some sort of local entity that thrives on electrical circuits, things are changing. Levi is doing things for itself, which is weird and worrisome to Azi.

You Always Did Have Trouble Listening To Me – Fiona, Kamen

Kamen remains under the influence of that alien, and with it bringing it to its nest, you may think the worst. However, like Azi, Levi, Ursula, and Sam, Kamen has to contend with a storm with over 200 miles per hour winds. The kind which, in this world, leads to dangerous things flying about or breaking off. So, while you may find yourself thinking the alien wanted to feed on Kamen, hence it luring it home, it might go a little deeper than that.

It’s Like We’re Either Inside Something Or Something Is Inside Us – Ursula, Sam

Ursula and Sam are adventurers through and through, and their most recent one has them going into some type of alien to escape the storm, where they are housed, alongside their eggs. Predators come and eat away at the other nests, but Ursula and Sam defeat this monster.

How? After Sam is attacked and either injected or drained, Ursula finishes what Sam started and flips the thing over, and guts it. Thus allowing for peace, and another night survived.

New Character Description(s)

Mia

Mia is a bit of a mystery. We know she has a crush on Azi, but beyond that her role is hard to describe due to limited information.

Highlights

Maintaining A Healthy Balance Between Characters

One could submit we’re not making a notable amount of progress in terms of learning what happened or who anyone is. Yet, there remains a certain level of intrigue. Especially as Sam and Ursula continue to utilize and adapt in ways I can’t fathom most people doing quickly, even if for survival. Then add the need to question what Fiona and Kamen’s relationship is and how and why this alien is playing on that? Again, your intrigue is driven.

Then, with Azi, I’ll admit she is becoming the weakest link, but Levi is increasingly compensating as it starts to push for some kind of autonomy.

Scavengers Reign: Season 1/ Episode 2 “The Storm” – Overview

Summary

With being released in three-episode batches, I worry the second episode may consistently be a bit of a bore. However, if this is anything like “Station Eleven,” we’ll ultimately have nothing to worry about.
