So, How Are You Going To Bathe? – Hori, Miyamura, Ishikawa
On a class trip, which likely took place before the events of episode 13 of the first season, there was a class trip to Kyoto. For some, it was their first time, others just their first time since middle school. However, very little focus is on the visit and more so on the bathing situation because of Miyamura’s tattoos.
Naturally, he is freaking out, and the only recourse he has, thanks to Ishikawa, is saying he is on his period. Yes, by saying he has his period, he gets away with not bathing with the rest of the boys since they don’t have private bathrooms in their rooms.
This, when she hears it, is hilarious to Hori, and being the friend she is, at that point, she lets Miyamura bathe in her room. He is thankful and questions if she would do this for other guys, and she does her best to balance making him seem special but hiding her true feelings. However, when talking about trusting him not to take advantage or make a move, things get a little heated – but not in an argumentative way. More so, it seems Hori wouldn’t have minded him making a move but resigns in knowing he wouldn’t.
However, when it comes to him needing to bathe the next day, she did come up with something to say to maybe push the envelope, but with Miyamura realizing he can just bathe close to midnight when there shouldn’t be anyone around, Hori doesn’t get the opportunity to explore what could happen.
I’m Not Going To Be Undressed In Front Of Everyone – Sengoku, Miyamura, Yasuda
Once again, Miyamura’s tattoos are a problem, but he isn’t alone in feeling uncomfortable in minimal clothing – Sengoku joins him due to being insecure about how skinny he is. Both have avoided swimming throughout the school year, but their teacher, Sensei Yasuda, makes it clear that running the track isn’t an option, and they have to go to the pool for at least one day.
Both freak out, but luckily Yasuda finds a way where, instead of swimming, they can clean for the day, which allows both to be comfortable, outside of being overheated in what they chose to cover themselves with.
Review
On The Fence
So, That’s It?
It’s understood this season is comprised of “The Missing Chapters,” so we shouldn’t expect big and notable reveals or moments. However, is it wrong not to expect more? Having an episode mostly dedicated to Miyamura’s different ways of hiding his tattoos feels like a weak way to open the season. Add in introducing a creepy teacher? It makes me wonder, with low expectations, what could come next?
