Do You Know What & Who You Want?: Lu, Omar, Rebeca, Nadia, Guzman, Ander, Samuel, Carla
Young love is always in flux on Elite. Does Guzman genuinely care for Lu, if his eyes wander toward Nadia? Even with her sacrificing her time and sanity to make him happy? What about Ander? His boyfriend now lives with him and is accessible. Does that make him less appealing since now he can be a full-time lover instead of part-time?
It goes on and one, even to the point of including Rebeca who has a thing for Samuel, but doesn’t feel like competing with Carla. Perhaps for good reason too. If only due to Carla trying to do more than keep Samuel on a leash but actually spend time with him – including eating microwave dinners and talking. Though, perhaps the silver lining is Samuel can’t move past accusing Carla of something over and over.
However, the one who really has to worry is Lu. She can barely keep Guzman’s attention and just to sit with him and have dinner she has to have a double date with Ander and Omar. Someone who, despite Lu’s feelings about his sister, Omar seems like he may become one of the first genuine friends she has had in a long time. One she may need since Guzman leaves her to spend the night, and have sex with, Nadia.
Power Play: Ander, Caynetta, Carla, Polo, Guzman
Power and influence are major things that each kid struggles with or harbors tightly. For example, Carla manipulates Polo with sex so that he’d go down without implicating her. Yet, with Ander putting him on a time limit, pushing Polo further and further, Polo decides it would be better to overdose and try to drown himself. For otherwise, he’d have to reveal, to one of his few friends he has, that, in a fit of rage, he killed his sister.
Luckily, Caynetta discovers Ander and brings him back to life, but one could submit this wasn’t purely done out of care or fear. Like Lu, after Carla abandoned her, Polo is a bit lost and alone. Which makes him an easy target and one Caynetta shows her loyalty to by covering for him and making it so Polo’s mothers never find out what happened. As for what she may do beyond just that, we’ll see in coming episodes.
I’m Back: Nano, Polo, Ander, Guzman
Thanks to Ander guilting Polo, and trying to provide an option for him not to tell Guzman everything, Samuel is slipped more than enough money to free Nano. Leading to, because he is apparently an idiot, Nano showing up to the school to talk to Guzman. Which, naturally, leads to him, on sight, running to lunge his fist at Nano.

- Are we ever going to see Nadia and Omar’s older sister?

The Relationship Drama
While there has to be a driving force to get us through 8 episodes, and many of the relationships do grow on you over time, I must admit I wish there was something more. An alternative to focusing on who is dating who, and I’m not talking about the mystery plot. For example, there is Marina’s scholarship to a school in Florida that had to be reallocated. What happened to that? Surely, considering part of their beef dealt with academics, we could pick up how Nadia and Lu were the smartest of their class competing for prestige, right? They could have more in their lives that long looks at Guzman or Nadia dealing with a strict father?
Heck, how is Nano doing in prison could be something looked into. He is accused of murdering a girl, so why is he without bruises or anything like that? When it comes to Carla, considering what her dad has done, and the state of Christian, shouldn’t she be taking note of who she is becoming trying to manipulate everyone?
What about Rebeca? We’ve seen her mom, but what about her dad? Where are her friends from the old neighborhood and what happened to them? There is so much this show could do to develop the individual that gets sadly ignored. And yet, I’m addicted.
