Overview

With it now being confirmed the show is cancelled, it seems we are allowed to see the production team’s final pitch for another season.

Review (with Spoilers)

There’s no storyline to cover, just memories to relive. Constant reminders of what this show meant to different viewers, whether they are girls or boys, and as much as it seems like a pitch for another season, it also seems like a goodbye. Though the audience doesn’t know it, you kind of get the vibe the cast and crew were already warned, possibly on edge, and hence why every smile is a bit wry and no matter how much the cast feeds off the energy of the fans, it almost seems like their joy is filled with hope rather than something concrete.

Yet, that sense of dread isn’t really seen until the end, when Rowan and Sabrina are at the bay window. That is when it seems clear that they knew it was likely over. They speak on when they first auditioned and bonded, and as tears stream and reassurances are given about their friendship, it is like they wanted to do more than provide written statements to us or even Disney. What was desired was to truly allow us to see how sad it is for them to be closing a chapter on what jump started their careers and changed their life. And while they surely would love to continue to grow with these characters, unfortunately, they have to let go of them. Fortunately, however, it doesn’t mean they have to let go of each other.
