But What About Susie?: Susie, Miriam

There was just a conversation about Susie being broke. However, 2 months at the Castskills is a tradition. Miriam has done it probably since Rose and Abe was able to so she isn’t thinking about sacrificing that for comedy. Which of course is a problem but what can Susie do? She knows who she has for a client.

So, adapting to Miriam rather than hoping Miriam will see how she is making Susie’s life hard, she, Susie, heads up to the Catskills. Then, for comedic effect, she just carries a plunger around and gets treated like a staff member. Food, board, and all. As for what else she is going to do up there? Well, get Miriam gigs. It may not be the city but there is still work. The kind Miriam fears being discovered doing and oh boy you know it is going to happen.

An Awkward Summer: Joel, Miriam

Miriam and Joel calling it quits is the talk of the resort and Joel, because he is tired of the stares and whispers, goes on stage to end it. Something which is appreciated, even charming, in Miriam’s eyes. Especially since she is bearing the weight of the separation. Such as being unable to do many of the pageantry contest.

A Boy Named Benjamin: Benjamin, Rose, Miriam

Benjamin (Zachary Levi) being a terrible date.
Benjamin (Zachary Levi): I might as well be rowing with my mother.

With Miriam’s cover for her stand up career being dating, and her noting she has dated carney folk, cab drivers, and the likes, Rose decides to step in. She overhears about someone’s son who wants someone weird, and he is a doctor. So, of course, Rose pushes Miriam and the man to date. Thing is, he isn’t that receptive and is nothing but a pain in Miriam’s side.

Yet, considering Miriam’s fear of being discovered as a comedienne, and Benjamin wanting a weird, unique girl, you know he is going to discover her.

Highlights

Miriam On Her Way To Being Exposed

Susie surprised about the length of Miriam's vacation.
Susie: I mean, two months away is gonna kill our momentum.

It seems like destiny for Benjamin to be the one who will discovery Miriam’s secret. He is weird, a loner, and likely to stray away from the resort. Giving us what feels like a long overdue moment. Because, as Susie was saying about this two-month vacation, the show is kind of losing momentum. Even when you take into consideration Joel and Abe evolving, Susie needing money has been the only pressing manner on this show. Not even just for this season, but the series.

So here is hoping Miriam being exposed, hopefully beyond Benjamin, lights a fire under this show’s ass.
