Don’t Have Me Regret This – Charles

Despite the situation we saw Charles in the last episode, he naturally gets out of it. Unfortunately, he has to add two bodies that MI6 picks up the scent of, but he is able to get away without adding a third. You see, while the man who knocked him out and his brother had to die, a third, who worked for them, was someone who Charles decided to trust.

Why? Well, as of late, old memories of dead men, women, and children have been haunting Charles. So, with having to use the young man’s phone to call Nuria and seeing the man’s wife and child, Charles goes against his instincts in hopes it doesn’t bite him in the behind.

From Divorce To Accomplice – Nuria, Charles

With her mother in her ear, Nuria was looking into a divorce attorney when Charles called, but his asking her to bring his prosthetics and letting her into his secret world pauses those conversations. Note: It does not end them since it seems her family is gung-ho about Nuria leaving and getting what she can, but Nuria doesn’t seem as far along as them.

Now, does Charles reveal that an international organization is after him, that he has an assassination to do in days, or any of what is happening? No. But, even though Nuria doesn’t learn the whole true, it seems to placate her, in some way, being let in on how dangerous Charles’ job is and why he keeps it from her.

Too Close For Comfort – Bianca, Vince, Charles

Getting back to Estonia is surprisingly easy once Charles has his disguise, but because karma is circling Charles’ life, on the plane to Estonia, Bianca sits in front of him, and Vince is not too far. They even get into a taxi behind him to really make him sweat. But, with no one the wiser and Norman’s final product, that gun, not setting off any alarms, Charles gets to his hotel and can begin planning his next move.

For The Greater Good – Charles, Rasmus

Rasmus, the security guard who helped Charles find his phone when he nearly fell to his death, is called up, and it initially appears Charles planned to do to him what he did to that janitor during his last job. However, after some drinks and heading to Rasmus’s place, it seems the two may have sex.

Now, is this to make Charles getting in easier? Is this how Charles plans to lower Rasmus’ defenses before he takes his ID, or something else? It is hard to know, for all we’re left with is watching Charles cheat on his wife with another man.

Highlights

Seeing How Much Nuria Loves Charles

While death could very much follow Nuria and her family if she ever out, never mind divorced, Charles, I wouldn’t say fear is where she is operating from regarding helping him. As we saw in earlier episodes, it seems there is a badass there with Nuria who is willing and able to be activated if called into action. But, as the flashbacks of his time in the military show, Charles has trust issues either in the form of what he couldn’t save his team from or what they caused that nearly killed him.

On The Fence

No Real Push Or Pull Regarding The Death Of UDC

Fully recognizing this is a thriller about what Charles may do, and if Bianca may ever get to stop him, a part of me feels like the end goal, which is UDC, should matter, right? Yes, he is a billionaire who touts himself as a decent, if not good, person, but whether he lives or dies hasn’t been presented as something we should care about.

Maybe a factor in this, beyond the lack of development of UDC, is that the show doesn’t feel pressed for time. Outside of when guns are being fired, things often feel slow and steady. Thus, there is no feeling that things are happening fast and decisions have to be made at a moment’s notice. Instead, the slow and steady nature that sometimes is a positive for the show is slowly becoming an issue.
