Plot Recap
A Beautiful Routine That Only Gets Better – Rudy, Sylphie, Nanahoshi, Zanoba, Aisha, Norn, Cliff
As shown for quite a while, Rudy has developed a routine. He works out in the morning, goes to class, and hangs out with friends. The only thing that has changed is the addition of his sisters and Sylphie as his wife—who, by the way, is pregnant!
He isn’t alone, though; nearly everyone has a routine, and, like Rudy, their lives have only been getting better.
Nanahoshi continues to make progress and knows she’ll need to contact Orsted soon to reach the final step of her work. Cliff has created something akin to a chastity belt for Elinalise to help her tame her curse, and for Zanoba, he has gotten good at making figurines. He still hasn’t solved the mystery of that robot, but at the very least, his figurine work is indisputable.
Outside of them? Aisha and Norn are adjusting well. Norn studies with Rudy and the two are closer than ever, and Aisha has now asked for a salary and is starting to learn how easily her brother is taken by puppy eyes.
Disruption – Rudy, Man-God
But nothing good lasts forever, and with Geese sending word to Rudy that help is needed regarding rescuing Zenith, Rudy finds himself in the presence of Man-God in his old form. In their conversation, Rudy questions what would happen if he goes to help Zenith, and Man-God is vague on details. All he is willing to give is a reminder of the time difference between any letter arriving to Rudy and the time it would take for him to get to where it was sent. Beyond that, Man-God pushes the idea Rudy should just continue his comfortable life, sleep with Linia or Pursena, and just enjoy life.
Which, minus cheating on Sylphie, Rudy decides to do for now.
One Of Us Has To Do It – Rudy, Norn, Sylphie, Elinalise, Zanoba
However, there comes a point Rudy can’t just be idle. With Norn knowing of the letter, she pushes the idea that if Rudy won’t go, she will, and his lack of desire to venture out and help their father picks at a fresh scab. So, Rudy begins to ask around. Elinalise supports him but would just as much go herself. After all, Sylphie is pregnant.
But having someone go in his place weighs on him, so he checks in with Zanoba, who supports Rudy leaving. He notes he would love to join him, but, not being well-traveled, he’d slow Rudy down. This pushes the idea that when Rudy leaves, he’ll be going alone. But, with creating a notable community that could care for and support Sylphie, maybe he won’t have to bear the full weight of guilt for leaving her at this sensitive time.
After all, between her noting how hard elves can have it birthing children and Man-God pushing the idea Linia or Pursena could be Rudy’s concubines, it seems Sylphie is about to deal with something devastating.

Highlights
Going On A New Adventure!
We’ve needed a new adventure from this show, and considering Man-God advised against it, all signs point to this new journey being dramatic and devasting, and all things could send a good jolt through this half of the season. For, don’t get me wrong, I love the relationship-building we’ve seen, but I’m fully on character development and need some world-building. I need Rudy in epic fights for survival, him meeting new people, and also the test of his loyalty to Sylphie, considering he is married but isn’t blind, and with how consistently they have sex, can he live without it for potentially a year or more?
Sylphie Is Pregnant
I can’t recall offhand if this is the type of show that foreshadows often, but I have not forgotten Sylphie warning Rudy about her likely having trouble having a child, and I wonder, as he goes off on a new adventure, what may that do to Sylphie? What will the worry do? How about the pressure to have a child? Yes, Aisha and Norn are there, among many others, but just as Rudy has become the big man on campus, let’s not discount Sylphie, as Fitz, earned their spot as well.
So, with that in mind, it will be interesting to see if the show splits our attention and keeps following Sylphie’s journey and the others’.
