  • About Ray (Three Generations) – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview/ Review (with Spoilers) When a movie gets pulled from a release schedule or pushed back, it leads you to believe it must be downright horrible. However, About Ray or Three Generations isn’t bad at all. It just, unfortunately, tries to balance out the mother’s personal drama with her trans son. Trigger Warning(s): Transphobia (One Scene of Bullying but mostly misgendering) Noted Actor(s) Ray (Elle Fanning) | Maggie (Naomi Watts) | Dolly (Susan Sarandon) Community Rating: 0.00% (0) - No Community Ratings Submitted.

  • 20th Century Women – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview/ Review (with Spoilers) 20th Century Women is so many things at once. It is a coming of age story, a sort of mid-life crisis, a story dealing with women in the heart of the sexual revolution and the rise of feminism. All of which it does strangely well despite splitting its focus. Noted Actor(s) Dorothea (Annette Bening) | Julie (Elle Fanning) | Abbie (Greta Gerwig) | Jamie (Lucas Jade Zumann) | William (Billy Crudup) Community Rating: 0.00% (0) - No Community Ratings Submitted.

  • Maleficent – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview When a man’s ambition leads to the betrayal of a young woman heart, you find yourself within the remixed story of Sleeping Beauty known as Maleficent. Review (with Spoilers) Like a good majority of people, I found the idea of Angelina Jolie as a Disney villain exciting, and Maleficent, without question, fits all the appeals she has an actress. But, alongside the appeal of having Jolie in the film, also the remixing of an old story is quite interesting. After all, the Disney animated version came out more than 50 years ago and while Once Upon a Time has featured Maleficent, it wasn’t Angelina Jolie. • The Boxtrolls – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview The Boxtrolls is a kid’s movie which shows how foolish, arrogant and gullible adults are. Even when all the evidence needed is right before their eyes. Review (with Spoilers) Though ParaNorman, Laika’s last production, didn’t really hit it out of the park with me, being that I didn’t know this was their newest film, I didn’t walk in with any preconceived notions. I just remember seeing the trailer somewhere, advertisements pop up and thought this would be a cute movie to see. One which unfortunately would have a theater filled with kids, but if you want to see films like these that is something you have to deal with. I digress, though, for the real question is whether this film has more broad appeal than ParaNorman, or if it is just another company’s futile attempt to stand out of the shadow of Disney’s domination. • Young Ones – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview Young Ones is like a post-apocalyptic western focused on life after a severe drought ruins a local area’s economy. Review (with Spoilers) With quite a few familiar names amongst the cast such as Nicholas Hoult, Elle Fanning, as well as Kodi Smit-McPhee, I felt instantly drawn to the film. However, as time goes on you realize this isn’t like most of the dramas the aforementioned names have been in. For with elements of sci-fi, a bit of action, and an almost western feel, Young Ones stands out amongst most of their filmographies. Now, as for whether it is a good stand out or a bad one, look below. Community Rating: 0.00% (0) - No Community Ratings Submitted.
