“Dummy” is one of those shows which toe the line between having deep meaning and being mindless entertainment.

“Dummy” ends its first season leaving you to wonder, is there more to it than it appears, or is it just a simple sex comedy and nothing more?

A robber, a crack addict, a sex doll, and a young writer are in a convenience store together – is this a setup for a joke or tragedy?

Is Barbara and imaginary friend, perhaps a being to force Cody to not be so attached, or dependent, to Dan? These are what keeps Cody up at night.

Quibi’s “Dummy” has its moments, but also doesn’t seem like a show which should exist behind a paywall.
