Westworld: Season 1/ Episode 8 "Trace Decay" – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Last updated on July 22nd, 2018 at 06:22 pm

Overview

As some grow closer to the maze, you realize it isn’t just this mystical place in the park but it may just be the park itself.

Review (with Spoilers)

After watching this episode and not rushing into the recap/ review and just letting my thoughts simmer, I realize what my issue is with this show and maybe even Humans. They aren’t so much about their characters as they are prepping for twists. With that, the characters, while developed in terms of backstory, it is hard to get an emotional connection. Add on the focus is split so widely and it makes it so all you can focus on is the general story. Which, while there are constant attempts to freshen it up utilizing the talent on the show, I must admit I still don’t get the hype.

Westworld: Season 1/ Episode 7 "Trompe L’Oeil" – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Last updated on July 22nd, 2018 at 06:22 pm

Overview

While most of the plot follows the trajectory you expect, then comes a truly shocking moment.

Review (with Spoilers)

Perhaps for the first time since this show started, I was honestly shocked by something. There was a moment, naturally toward the end, when you realized that a lot of things aren’t what they seem and while it doesn’t change my overall view of the show, it does make me question things. But I try to keep the spoilers nill above the fold so continue on below to know what happens in “Trompe L’Oeil.”

Westworld: Season 1/ Episode 6 "The Adversary" – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Last updated on July 22nd, 2018 at 06:25 pm

Overview

The arrival of the board is nigh and with Maeve becoming aware beyond even Dolores and the staff of Westworld all hiding secrets as their peers discover them, so comes the question of who is really what they seem to be?

Review (with Spoilers)

I usually dog out Westworld but I have to admit that I’m starting to really get into it now. Leading me to wonder if perhaps the whole Dolores angle was why I have been so ho-hum about this series, for she takes an episode off. Yet, while the likely trajectory of the hosts remains the same, the same can’t be said for the staff. Some are acting erratic and strange, while others are hiding things. The type of things that if the board finds out about, oh heads will roll.

Westworld: Season 1/ Episode 5 "Contrapasso" – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Last updated on July 22nd, 2018 at 06:26 pm

Overview

More and more people venture toward the maze and as this is done it is hard to not begin to question who are some of these newcomers outside of the world of Westworld?

Review (with Spoilers)

The maze. What is at the center of it? One theory lurks in my head, especially as Arnold’s name continues to linger, but what the maze may have gets eclipsed but something vastly more interesting. The fact that some of the hosts are now becoming violent against newcomers. Well, at least in the case of one of them.

Westworld: Season 1/ Episode 4 "Dissonance Theory" – Overview/ Review (with Spoilers)

Last updated on July 22nd, 2018 at 06:27 pm

Overview

The threat of the hosts changing seems to no longer be the only thing the people of Westworld have to worry about as the threat of the board coming has now turned into a promise.

Review (with Spoilers)

At this point in the season, I’m just accepting that the hype was not met and seeing this solely as entertainment. Trying to dig deeper meaning, trying to see this as some sort of epic, well that was time wasted. For while The Man In Black continues an interesting quest, and Ford seems like the old testament version of god slightly fearful of the people finding new lords and masters, everything else is your usual barrage of gun battles.
