Game of Thrones: Season 4

  • Game of Thrones: Season 4/ Episode 10 “The Children” [Season Finale] – Recap/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview Welcome to the end of an era, and the start of something likely less stable. Review (with Spoilers) After so many beloved characters dying this season, it makes even the series changing one which comes in the finale something which you hunch your shoulders at. But, with us getting in touch with most of the major forces of the show, you can see that one death means a dramatic shift in what is to come. Otherwise, most of the episode seems like any other, which is making me think that television shows are foregoing cliffhangers and big time season finales. Which I’m not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing. Community Rating: 0.00% (0) - No Community Ratings Submitted.

  • Game of Thrones: Season 4/ Episode 9 “The Watchers on the Wall” – Recap/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview The Wildlings, and allies, have made it to the wall and for the entire episode we are left wondering who is going to die. Review (with Spoilers) Though people die damn near every episode of Game of Thrones, it is rare that it is because of a full on faction vs. faction battle. But with the Wildlings, and allies, challenging the crows, while the battle isn’t as epic as the one which took place on King’s Landing, it is good enough to distract you from the fact Tyrion’s fate hangs in the balance. • Game of Thrones: Season 4/ Episode 8 “The Mountain and the Viper” – Recap/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview In another emotionally draining episode, we get quite a performance from many of the actors, as we mark another character’s death. Review (with Spoilers) I love and hate this show. I love it because the characters all have such potential, and sometimes it is realized, but I hate this show since anyone is eligible to die and it almost seems like their death could have been prevented. Which is why I call this an emotionally draining episode for you are given a good performance out of Sansa, you get to see Ramsay have a touching moment with his father, Arya making it to the Vale, and then there is Tyrion’s champion Oberyn versus The Mountain. • Game of Thrones: Season 4/ Episode 7 “Mockingbird” – Recap/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview New alliances are formed, others strengthened, but being this is Game of Thrones there is always someone willing, and ready, to backstab. Review (with Spoilers) As we creep further and further toward the finale, you are left wondering if The Purple Wedding will be the sole big event of the season. Well, from what it seems, this may not be so. For with a few major events in this episode, we are assured some good combat, as well as uneasy alliances. But, will any of it cumulate into something epic? Well, only time will tell. Community Rating: 0.00% (0) - No Community Ratings Submitted.

  • Game of Thrones: Season 4/ Episode 6 “The Laws of Gods and Men” – Recap/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview After two or three somber episodes, we get a taste of what made this show popular, and promises of resurgence. Review (with Spoilers) I find it unfortunate, as a fan, that when the show opts to develop characters, further storylines, and actually focus on something besides sex and violence, I get a tad bored of the show. And though it probably speaks much more about me than anything else, I think the fact of the matter is, while the characters are all equally interesting, I would argue the majority of the actors and actresses give only an adequate performance. While Peter Dinklage, as well as Lena Headey, seem to actually be doing more than reciting lines with a taste of feeling, but trying to make their performances almost Shakespearean. Hence why whenever there is a news article on the show, usually one or both are named. Community Rating: 0.00%…

  • Game of Thrones: Season 4/ Episode 5 “First of His Name” – Recap/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview In a rather mundane episode, politics are a bigger focus than battle. But just to keep those with a bloodlust interested, there is one decent one to satisfy ye. Review (with Spoilers) I’m not fully sure, due to my memory, whether past season of Game of Thrones were more exciting, or if just the exciting moments are all I remember, hence why I come back year after year. Either way, arguably there is one big moment in each season, and with it seeming like Joffrey’s death maybe this season’s big moment, I must admit it is leading this show to have a similar issue to what The Sopranos had. Said issue being that a show known for violence and sex becomes boring once those two features are put on the back burner. Luckily though, with an appearance from Daenerys and Jon’s battle with the Night’s Watch rebels, there are…

  • Game of Thrones: Season 4/ Episode 4 “Oathkeeper” – Recap/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview As things cool down after Joffrey’s wedding, many are ready to build up to the next big event. Review (with Spoilers) Seemingly, despite the various media articles about last week’s rape scene, there isn’t much sign that what we may perceive as rape, will be treated as rape. Besides that, there isn’t anything big in this episode, besides the redemption of Jaime and us learning who killed Joffrey. However, even with that said, there are a few gems which do sparkle. • Game of Thrones: Season 4/ Episode 3 “Breaker of Chains” – Recap/ Review (with Spoilers)

Overview With Joffrey’s death, and many on their way to claim the throne, there becomes a question of whether peace will ever enter Westeros and stay? Trigger Warning(s): Rape Scene Review (with Spoilers) Unlike the Red Wedding, and the death of Eddard Stark, there isn’t a large amount of tears and people wandering about over the death of one of the world’s leaders. Instead, it seems pretty much only Cersei weeps as everyone else plans their next move. Tywin is already preparing another of Cersei’s children, Tonmen, to rule, while prepping for Tyrion’s trial; Stannis wants to reclaim his rightful throne, but lacks the army to do so; Daenerys’ name is noted by Tywin as an eventual enemy, though as of now she is still trying to free all the slaves; and while this is happening the wildlings, with their friends the Thenn, are ripping through the north and bringing…
